Mariana is AUSactive’s Senior Advisor Policy and Advocacy. Mariana has spent the past three years advocating for AUSactive’s mission to get Australia moving by talking to government about how important physical activity is, as a preventive health measure. Supporting the CEO, she has championed Fit for Office, a physical activity challenge with Federal Politicians designed to inspire the nation by having leaders lead by example. Through this initiative, AUSactive has built strong relationships with parliamentarians, helping AUSactive advocate for government investment in preventive health. These efforts are central to AUSactive’s push for a National Public Health Campaign, when implemented, will raise awareness of physical activity’s role in preventing chronic disease and improving mental health. Mariana has also played a key role in leading the CEO and Industry Forums in Canberra, which are events designed for our industry to engage with politicians about getting Australians more active. Passionate about driving change, Mariana is a strong believer in the power of exercise lives and is committed to ensuring that the active health and exercise industry has a strong voice in shaping government policy. She welcomes conversations on how we can work together to engage politicians at all levels and highlight the industry’s critical role in supporting both physical and mental health.
