In 1989, Diana Williams changed the landscape of health and fitness for Australian women forever. Being an advocate of strength training for women for over 40 years and recognising a need to provide a lack of spaces where women could exercise comfortably and confidently, she opened a makeshift gym in an abandoned school classroom in Bendigo. From this single club, Fernwood Fitness was born. Under Diana’s visionary leadership, Fernwood has grown into a national powerhouse, now with 74 clubs across Australia. As Chair of Fernwood, Diana continues to guide the organisation with purpose and passion, championing women’s health and wellbeing and strength training for women.
