Sam Waller is the CEO of Stepz Fitness, an Australian 24/7 gym franchise with 26 locations across New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and the ACT, with further expansion planned into Victoria and Tasmania.

Sam joined Stepz in 2009 as a personal trainer, became the brand’s youngest franchisee at 20, and took over as CEO in 2017 at just 24. Under his leadership, Stepz pioneered one of Australia’s first hybrid fitness models, combining 24/7 gym access with functional group training under one roof, and has built a homegrown brand that successfully competes with global giants for sites, members and franchisees.

In 2026, Sam was recognised as one of Australia’s Top 30 Franchise Executives and was a finalist for Franchisor of the Year at the Franchise Council of Australia Awards. He regularly speaks on franchise growth, evolving membership models, leadership and building commercially successful fitness businesses through strong local communities.
